Isle Of Portland Orchids

  Massive congratulations to the members of Bournemouth Orchid Society for a wonderful show on Saturday. There were nearly three hundred visitors through the doors, lots of great orchids and activities for all in the Learning Zone. We are really pleased to have such a dynamic local society and do our bit to support the team. Best in show was this delightful Barbosella australis.

Today is the first day of Autumn (on the gardeners calendar) so the perfect time to find the UK's latest flowering orchid at its peak. These tiny but stunning wild flowers are found in many places on Portland amongst short turf, especially around the Verne. Well worth hunting for .
