Portland's native orchids at their best this week

  Portland's native orchids in full bloom We are lucky to live surrounded by native orchids on Portland and tghis week the Pyramidal Orchids are at their best. The group shown here are on the nature reserve by the Wild Chesil Centre where we volunteer for Dorset Wildlife Trust as outdoor engagement volunteers, talking to the public about the flora and fauna on the reserve - hope to see you there someting.

    We have restocked our online shop and have 30 species for sale including some spectacular new offerings include the miniature species Lepanthopsis astrophora and Barbosella australis (below)

Gardeners World Live - Show day 1

  We have had a great first day at Gardeners World Live. We have really enjoyed meeting so many orchid growers and gardeners at our stand and are very pleased with a Silver Merit Medal On the first day we had the pleasure of ex-Writhlington Students Chloe and Jess to help on the stand. Chloe is now part of the horticulture team at The Living Rainforest - leading on a new orchid display and project their - and Jess who has just finished her Geography Degree at Oxford University is off to Sarawak with her family in the summer to link up with our partners in Kuching.

Heading for Gardeners World Live Show

  We are travelling up the A34 towards the NEC for Gardeners Worl Live with a van full of orchids. Do come and find us if you are heading to the show. The show is open to the public on Thursday, Friday , Saturday and Sunday. We will send photos of our display and sales table as soon as we are set up.
